- However, though hardly a chance you may visit the Capitol building on non-event day, there is indeed a narrow possibility. Under this condition, free guided tours across the building will be your must do! The tour starts at the beginning of each hour between 9 am and 4 pm Monday through Friday, and each tour lasts about one hour. Of course, there will be exceptions on state holidays. Special-offered evening tours are only available on Wednesday at 6 pm and 7 pm. Please note that if there are 10 and more members in your group, you are required to make reservation at least one week ahead your schedule.
When it comes to students and large groups, Utah State Capitol offers docent-guided tours to enhance your fun and experience. During the tour, guests will learn more about Utah history, art & architecture of the Capitol building and more. On Monday and Friday, the total attendees of the group, including the chaperones, can not exceed 30, while on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the largest size of the group is 80.
